Hi, I'm Laura.
I grow food, and I write about it.
I started this blog after a single season broke my spirit. I had poured all my energy into a garden that failed, fighting a losing battle against the soil and the elements. It took months of sweat, frustration, and a stubborn refusal to quit to finally pull it back from the edge.
But in the process, I realized something important: I wasn't the only one drowning in the struggle. So many people were quietly going through the exact same thing, feeling isolated by their failures. I decided to start writing about the updates here to prove that the mess is part of the magic.
That is what this is all about.
Everything you'll read here is a survivor - the varieties that endured the neglect, the methods that survived the chaos, and the mindset that keeps us coming back. No fairy tales, no airbrushed perfection, and no pretending that nature always plays nice. Just the honest, unvarnished journey of a gardener who refused to give up.
If you’ve ever felt like you were fighting a losing battle - welcome. Pull up a chair. You’re in good company.
